Hello All: You have been invited to join Gil Clark of Telescopes In Education and myself in the 9th Annual Persied Meteor Shower and Starparty, held at Mt. Wilson Observatory Pavillion area. We hope you can make it on: August 11th at 7:00pm and 8:00pm, AT THE GATES.

We open the locked gates at that time, and lock them behind the last car, as the facility is closed to the public. You should have a wilderness pass, as the state requires them.

Do bring: 1. Your friends 2. lounge chairs to sit on 3. warm clothes and/or blankets in case it gets cold 4. binoculars or your telescope 5. Something nice to eat and drink. (No food available there.) 6. Mosquito repellant!!!! (sometimes it is bad.)

There are bathroom facilities - water has been an issue at Mt. Wilson lately, we will hope it is fixed, if not there are "Andy Gumps" available. (Portables)

You will meet new friends and old at the starparty. If you don't know how to operate your telescope, there will be someone there that can help you. It is great fun.

To get there, Go up 210 Frwy north of JPL and Pasadena. Turn north on Hwy 2 - Angeles Crest Hwy. Go 15 miles and follow the signs to the Mt. Wilson Turnoff. Up the mountain and wait at the gates for 7:00pm or 8:00pm and we will open up for you. It is more fun to have your friends there too. It is a family event. See you there.
